Arena New York, Venue Description

Arena - Taking on the old Bryant Park space once inhabited by Show, Arena hooked the right ratio of simplicity, spectacle and structure—like the proverbial black dress for toute occasion. Unlike other venues that pride themselves in secret portals and hidden lounges, Arena dangles the forbidden VIP fruit for all to see... and covet. Models in miniskirts and John-Mayer-look-alikes cascade down the tiered balconies, which are set back far enough for prime panoramic people-watching. Watch the HD imagery bounce off the 200sf east and west screens, and relax as your eyes float upwards to the dazzling dome centerpiece and crystal chandeliers dripping down from the ceiling. With a successful party for photographer David LaChapelle, A-list promoters holding suit, and Fashion Week’s tents just steps away, it will be a while before anyone stamps this gem with a death watch warning.

Get A Listed
A restored twenties theatre, the only reminders that it once hosted movies are the projector screens lining the walls of this mid-town mother ship. The glow of a full spectrum of LED lights will cast the perfect mood for your night out, transporting you from Times Square to an alien get away. If all the hi-fi technology is boring, check out floor two, perfect for some people watching- notice the dance floor thumping. Get eye to eye with the DJ at our VIP booth's, a night at arena will prove to be elegant and intimate, despite it's name and location.

Enjoy yourself and check out all of our other NYC parties, available with bottle service, professional photography, and a gorgeous crowd. Contact through Club Planet or alistednyc@gmail.com for information on how you can take advantage of this party on the A-List for free.

I have had the same experience...don't worry is not discrimination of color they just want to feel special and poshy!!! I was there with two of my friends (all three girls) we were with a promoter who also had a table; unfortunately when we came to the door everybody (bouncers and a host) were looking at us but with no expression what so ever! When we tried to talk to them and let them know which list we are on, they said wait one minute. However after 10min they said please step aside we cannt take more people in! while there were others getting in...and trust me we were dressed nice! They really have some issues with attitude and is not worth it at all!

SELECTIVE ADMISSION: PEOPLE OF COLOR BEWARE
Worst experience with this place.

I booked a guest list for my birthday at Arena a week ago. And on my very own 21st birthday I showed up early at the door around 11:30 waited briefly on line to get into the place. My friends and I got our IDs scanned and told the list-holder my name. He took a look at his list and checked it off, asked how many people I had and we pointed to a group of mostly asians in the back of about 20 people. We had just came from dinner. The list-holder told us the girls will be comped and guys will need to pay $15. He paused and turned around to discuss briefly with his fellow-door man and came back after 3 min to tell us they cannot accommodate so many people and rudely asked all of my guests to step out of the line while other non-colored guests keep getting let in. We asked if there's any way we can get in at this point since we were already at the door, and they shooed for us to go across the street.

I would not like to think of this as an act of discrimination however, to us all who were present, it clearly seemed so. No one at the club gave us a clear explanation as to why this happened and no one from Arena offered the slightest apology, We were obviously already on the their guest list. It is very rude to have been turned away without a proper explanation.

To avoid future circumstances, take my advice, people of color, AVOID THIS PLACE.

ps. the bouncers were very polite. They were clearly confused with the whole situation as well and very POLITELY asked us to step aside. Unlike the doormen.
